Earlier this week I shared Grimm’s 12 rainbow friends. If you’re in the market for some peg toys, this is a good set to consider.
Originally I was looking to purchase Grimm’s Friends in Bowls until I came across this set from Grapat. Similar concept, but you also get matching coins and a dust bag to store your toys in.
The reason why I went with this set vs the Grimm’s version is simply because the set was too similar to my 12 rainbow friends. I would end up having 6 friends that are exactly the same. So unless J really gets into matching things up, then I would reconsider purchasing that set too. But at this point, it’s only because I like it.
Actaully, I’m not giving Grapat enough credit. I really like that the “friends” have a warmer skin tone to them and that they felt smooth to the touch. Grimm’s is more textured.
The colors from this set correspond perfectly with the medium rainbow from Grimm’s. Perfect for matching up colors.
Overall this is a solid set. It’s still open-ended, so your little one can use it for imaginative play, learning colours, counting, ordering, and sorting. For the same price of the Grimm’s set, you also get matching coins and a dust bag to travel or store the toys in.
Note: this set is intended for children 36 months and older.
